Sonic the Hedgehog 3
This is my first time watching Sonic in a cinema after skipping the first and second one (where I watched it via home media). And I don't regret my actions. When I entered the cinema, I thought that there wouldn't be many people watching because the cinema was full of children and families (where I assumed that they would watch Mufasa, because they imitated the lion's roar.) When I entered the studio, it turned out that some children and families were watching Sonic. Yes, maybe because they are both cartoon characters so they wanted to watch it.
But, what they didn't know was that this adaptation was really dark compared to the previous two films. Trauma, tragedy, revenge. It might sound strange for children to watch, especially the scene where Maria died. But don't worry, no one felt excessively sad. The portions regarding the three themes were divided normally and fit the audience.
Next, the performance of several players in the film. Sonic was presented as usual where he was entertaining and funny, but in several scenes in the second half towards the third half, there was a dark side to Sonic that was similar to Shadow. For Shadow, wow this is crazy. I know why this character is famous among sonic fans, and honestly I support Shadow over Sonic. Keanu Reeves does sound like John Wick in this movie, but he seems to be having fun and there is humor in Shadow's character. Knuckles and Tails are given a portion that is actually quite enough because they are important in Sonic's life.
While the human characters, Tom and Maddie are quite good, although it seems like the portion of the scene is more in Robotniks (where I will give my opinion later), but they give life lessons to Sonic about revenge. For Robotniks (Ivo and Gerald) played by Jim Carrey, they are really total. Although both are Robotniks, Ivo and Gerald have different personalities. Ivo is evil but still normal, while Gerald really wants to destroy the world, including himself. Jim brings a different and funny performance, especially since there is a fourth wall moment that is actually unique to convey.
For the nuance of the music, it focuses more on dark and gloomy. But approaching the third chapter, well then the excitement happens. When Live and Learn is played, I understand why fans want this song in the movie. And it really fits. Honestly, especially when wrapped in a fight, it's really epic.
Post-credit: THAT IS CRAZY, why is Amy in the film version more beautiful than the previous media? Honestly, I really like Amy's CGI. Hopefully the production team doesn't disappoint Amy to the fans. And Metal Sonic? Who made it? GUN? Ivo?
End credit: Yes, Shadow is still alive. I didn't have time to see this because the studio was already quiet, it was really rude.
