Now You See Me: Now You Don’t
After a nine-year wait since the second film, this franchise finally returns with a fresh story and a new generation of characters—Justice Smith, Ariana Greenblatt, and Dominic Sessa—stepping in as “echoes” of the original Horsemen. The central theme of stealing from the rich for the greater good remains unchanged from the previous installments. This time, the villain isn’t particularly strong, but not weak either. Her backstory—once a lover of magic turned bitter—is compelling, and her cunning nature adds intrigue. As expected, each major heist ends with a clever trick reveal. Plot twist? Absolutely. But as you follow the story, you’ll find yourself constantly guessing what kind of twist is coming.
The original five Horsemen are just as they were, but how about the three newcomers? Fantastic. Each brings a distinct personality to the table: Bosco (my personal favorite) is protective, Charlie is easygoing, and June is sharp and intelligent. They blend seamlessly with the veteran cast, making it feel like there’s no hierarchy—just synergy.
I’ve heard there’s a sequel in the works, and I truly hope these three new characters return. They’re bound to become fan favorites. Thank you, Lionsgate, for reminding us that this franchise still has a place in the superhero-saturated era.
